Shinagawa-shuku is located in Shinagawa, one of the access points to Tokyo from Narita Airport/Haneda Airport, and offers great accessibility to all the sightseeing spots in Tokyo, Kanagawa, and Chiba.
It's a 2 minute walk from Kita Shinagawa Station to Guest House Shinagawa-shuku via the historical promenade which flourished during the Edo Period (1603-1868).Various local festivals are held by the many traditional Japanese temples andshrinesscattered throughout the area that will give you a wonderful experience while staying in this historical part of Tokyo.
You can visit many traditional temples and shrines or take in the intimateatmosphere of the many local shops and traditional Japanese restaurants. Our facility is located on the first station of the old Tōkaidō Road which connected Edo (the name of Tokyo in the samurai days) and Kyoto. Many feudal lords (*daimyō*) and famous samurai used this road for hundreds of years and stayed in this area. There is a famous pilgrimage to the 7 Gods of Good Luck (*Shichi Fukujin*) which will bring you to many ancient temples/shrines. Shinagawa is also the where Sengakuji is located which is pivotal in the story of the 47 Rōnin. While Tokyo is a very modern city, Shinagawa-Shuku still preserves the feel of old Japan and is rich with Japanese Culture.
